Today the challenge is to write a poem of origin. Where are you from? Not just geographically, but emotionally, physically, spiritually? Maybe you are from Vikings and the sea and diet coke and angry gulls in parking lots. Maybe you are from gentle hills and angry mothers and dust disappearing down an unpaved road. And having come from there, where are you now?
Our origins are our roots, the basis of our evolution. Here are mine 🙂
My Origin, my evolution From the land of dust or snow, A place aboding in highlands Or a city blossoming with lakes No, that’s not my origin or birthplace I come from a town of hopes I hail from a place of aspirations I’ve traversed the road of faith My roots navigate me to my destination A reflection I see in the mirror I try to ascertain the figure Is it my mother or my sister, Or an identity created by myself? But how can it be me? Wasn’t I a docile, timid girl Terrified of exploring the world Who cocooned herself fearing unfurl? But look at this fearless persona Radiant with the clarity of her mind With the mettle to realize her dreams Shining through her eyes It seems I have come a long way But there’s so much still to achieve This journey seems eternal This transformation truly liberating ©Vandana Bhasin 11.04.2019

Thank you Sang ☺️
You spoke my mind and heart – you did it so beautifully!
I don’t know how I missed reading this. I can’t believe you were ‘timid and shy.’ For what I see today is
confidence personified.
My roots navigating me❤️
