Poem: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your World
I looked at the world from the eyes of contempt
Repugnance is all that I ever received
I filled my heart with compassion and love
Affection and warmth flowed to me
My heart believed that I could accomplish
My mind dissented, how could I ever believe?
I bowed to mind and followed its lead
It led me to places I couldn’t conceive
Dreams we all have, but only a few of us seize
Happiness we all chase, but are we all happy?
Enveloped in fear, we may sometimes feel
But we conquer all qualms, if mind sets us free
When I ruminated life and it’s true meaning
I comprehended the chaos concocted by mind
Life was as I perceived it in my thoughts
I realized it was all in the state of mind
In the silence of mind, when only heart speaks
My beliefs became stronger, zenith was in reach
My mind reflected the world I saw
While the world mirrored my state of being
