ALS NaPoWriMo Day 26 Prompt:
Change is the only constant. No matter how clichéd this phrase is, it is the ultimate truth. We undergo infinite changes in our lifetime, accepting some of those cheerfully, while some are imposed onto us. What changes have you found most challenging? Are you good at adapting changes? What is your view about changes? Show us your thoughts about this constant today.
Poem: Change… A Way of Life
I stood quietly, watching the tides
Amazed at their tenacity of accepting the flow
Ephemeral, they knew, was their role
Yet imperative to the goal
I soaked my feet in the wet sand
The grains were soon swept away by waves
I lost the ground I was standing on
I balanced myself, maintained my poise
Change enervated me
Yet the thought of inertia was petrifying
Complacency births stability
Yet curbing growth in the face of uncertainty
I kept walking along the sea
Reminiscing the time gone by
A long path I’d traversed over years
A changed woman I was today
Evolved I had, with the tests of time
Succeeding at some, while failing some time
Change though challenging but a way of life
Imparting lessons, transforming each time
“Walk with me, don’t wait for anything,”
Whispered the silent voice of time
Reluctant I was, paralyzed with fright
But I molded myself, per needs of time
Resistance, I learnt, intensified the storm
Acceptance and flow being the only mantra
A change woman, yes, I was today
For I embraced the change; believing in myself, I disavowed to wait!
