Unsaid Words

You kill me everyday
With words that you don’t say

Some words of love and care
That I’ve always longed to hear

Some words that are a caution
That I await before each fall

Some words that make me aware
Of your presence in my life

Some words that make me realize
That I’m more than myself

Some words that help me gather
When I falter each time

Some words that assure me
That I’m not alone on this journey

Some words that signify
That it’s okay to be sometimes silly

Some words that bring me alive
Before I lose myself each day

Do words fail you or you fail to notice me
I fail to comprehend

I hope you will see me
While I’m here on this earth

I hope you’ll say all these words
Before I join the camaraderie of stars above
