Universe, they say, has its own ways
Ways of bringing people together,
Together who are meant to be,
No matter where they are
—
Miles away from you,
In a world that I called my own,
Yet searching for a soul,
A soul that understood me
—
You walked into my life like a gentle breeze,
Serendipitously, unanticipated, nonchalantly,
Caressing me with your words,
Embracing me with your love
—
Your laughter became the new rhythm of my heart,
Slowly unfurling the knots that tied me,
I wasn’t just breathing anymore, I was living
Probably, I was in love
—
Is this how “love” makes one feel?
Immersed in your thoughts,
And cossetted by your care,
My heart overflowing in an emotional sea
—
Were you and I, meant to cross each other’s paths?
Did stars predestine this journey of love?
Why do I feel a constant yearning?
Is this His divine way of guarding?
—
But Universe, they say, has its own ways,
“You must go back to your own worlds,
Your hearts now know true meaning of love,
You must undergo the pain and hurt,” it proclaimed
—
“How unjust is that?” my heart screamed,
How can I survive without your shield?
I pleaded the stars; I questioned the galaxy
But my tears and cries went unheeded
—
Here I am, battling the void
Trying to decipher the game of Universe,
Waiting for stars to honor my plea,
That it’s only you, who completes me!
—
I trust the Universe,
I believe in Thee,
I’m waiting for the miracle,
To meet you again, to complete my journey!

This is so beautiful and so very true. My heart screams too when I don’t understand the universe and it’s ways. Loved reading it 🙂
It’s so perplexing to understand the reasons at times. Acceptance is the only way I guess. Thanks for sharing your views Rashi ♥️
Universe has it’s ways, which we do not understand
Your beautiful poetry brings the love and the loss so poignantly. I loved everything about your poem specially the acceptance in the end.
Deepika
I’m glad you liked it Deepika. Universe is certainly beyond our understanding. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your feedback ♥️♥️
This felt like reading a microfiction about finding a soulmate….well done
Thanks Pooja ♥️
Universe has its own pace and plan and we cannot understand it, liked the way you have expressed the longing in the poetry and questioned with innocence about the next meet.
The universe and its magical ways, making souls connect in their own different ways.
So well said – I believe in Universe, I’m waiting for the miracle, To meet you again, to complete my journey! Wish we can understand its ways, but then it won’t be fun to reveal the suspense.
Loved how you have used beautiful words to weave this poem.
Oh! To have loved and lost is an altogether different story. Your piece resonated with me and made me revisit my past. The only question I ask myself after reading your beautiful poem is, “If Only…”
That is a poem that talks about the power of the universe and all the emotions that it poses to the people who its home. Great poets out there.
So beautiful lines. Many elements are embedded together. Loved the flow. MY love for Universe makes it more special to me.
Good to know you believe in the magic of universe too Ramya. Thanks for reading and appreciating my words ♥️♥️
Lovely words.
The Universe has a plan. There’s the “law of attraction” too.
I believe that those who are meant to be together will be united & what is going to happen, will happen. Hope the ending is happy, else it is not the ending!
“Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!” 🙂
And that’s life…. Always hopeful ….always optimistic…. Belief never leaves our side… and that’s where all the magic is….the poem makes reminds us of the harshness in life while the end gives strength and hope … everything penned beautifully
Yes…hope keeps us alive and belief keeps us moving….thanks a ton Shalini for your kind words of appreciation. Grateful for your feedback ♥️♥️
* the poem reminds us of the harshness that life offers while the end gives strength and hope
My two favourite lines in this poem were “Probably, I was in love” and waiting to complete the journey. A beautiful poem about the meeting and loss of relationships, the design of the universe we cannot comprehend.
Thanks Namratha! I’m glad you liked it ♥️
Universe has its own way to make us learn things in a hard way. Very well written and expressed. There are so many things go unanswered but that’s the way it should be.. I think
Very well written. The love, pain, yearning has been brilliantly expressed. I love the quote by Paulo Coehlo too. Your poem is very profound.
Thanks a ton Gowri. ❣
The whole poem just warmed my heart! The universe plays its own game and has a plan that is difficult to understand. You have brought out the purity of every emotion like love, loss & longing in your poem so beautifully! Loved it, Vandanaji 🙂
Thank you so much for reading and sharing your feedback. Universe certainly has plans beyond our comprehension.
The universe can be very loving and cruel at the same time. We simply need to make peace with whatever it offers. Good writing!!
Such a heartfelt piece of writing Vandana, it brought forth so many emotions in us, loved to delve in your romantic composition you do have a way with the words
Thank you so much for beautiful words of appreciation Roma. You made me smile. I’m so glad you found it a good read ♥️♥️
Wonderful Poetry that says all about in between meet and left. Very well said Universe has its own plans to decide whom and how we meet, where we stay together, and the saddest part till when. yes in the end what makes the thing easier is mere acceptance.
Rightly said Archana. We don’t get to decide how much time we can spend with the person we love…that’s so sad….I hope Universe has better plans for everyone and making peace with its verdict, is our only choice. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts. ♥️♥️
Anyone who has loved and lost will relate to this poem immediately! I went through a roller coaster of emotions while reading this. Thank you for writing this beautiful piece.
Thank you so much for your kind words. The loss of love is more painful than its beauty… Appreciate your feedback. Much love ❤
This reminds me of the high-end drama that life is all about…the love, the loss, the pain, the longing to reunite and the hope, all expressed beautifully Vandana, loved your work
Life indeed is a high-end drama that doesn’t end till our last breath, isn’t it? Thank you for liking and commenting Leela. Appreciate it ♥️♥️
My pleasure
So appreciate how you have shown love in all its forms. Beautiful writing. The universe often has far better plans for us, than the ones we have for ourselves.
Agreed Mayuri. We must trust the universe and be patient for it to unfold its miracles. Thank you for reading and sharing your views ♥️♥️
This is a beautiful piece of poetry. Loved reading it. The universe knows and has better plans for us. ‘I trust the universe and waiting for the miracle’ beautiful lines.
Thank you Abha. I’m so glad you liked it. ♥️
The universe and its ways are both so mysterious. We try hard to interpret. Loved your choice of words expressing the agony.
True that Pragnya. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts ❣
That was an osm writeup blending emotions of love and loss wonderfully put up and spell of universe believe in its charishma,
I believe that we meet someone somewhere for a reason and universe binds love accordingly
As Shahrukh dialogue goes ‘Om shanti Om-
“Itni shidhaat se tumha paane ke koshish ke hai ka har zaare nah mujhay tumse milane saazish ke hai.”
I want to tell you your words gives me hope. I lost someone dear and reading your poem I feel like cherishing only the good moments. It makes me believe that there is a future for us.
