Today is the fifth day of NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo. The prompt (optional) today is to write a poem that is based in the natural world: it could be about a particular plant, animal, or a particular landscape. But it should be about a slice of the natural world that you have personally experienced and optimally, one that you have experienced often.
I am not sure if I adhered to the prompt, but this is what I penned down today.
The poem highlights perspective of two different bodies, at the same moment of time.
Every night I glance up the sky
with teary eyes
probing for you
aching to be with you
But I find you immersed
in magnificence
of your new universe
up in the celestials
I can fathom you nattering merrily
I can see you twinkling blissfully
while I crave for a smile
I long for those words
I yearn for that look
Every night when I glance up the sky
———————————————————————-
Every night I twinkle in the sky
with tearful eyes
with grieving heart
with a hope to see you smile
But I find you lost in time
probing for me
with inquisitive eyes
with wounded heart
with no glee
no smile
Every night when I twinkle in the sky
It partially adhered to the prompt I think…it’s a beautiful poem…
Thanks dear 🙂
