ALS NaPoWriMo Day 4: I am incomplete without you
Prompt:
Today, let’s challenge ourselves to identify what/ who makes us feel complete. It could be a person, a deity, or a quality or skill you possess. Let your heart guide you in identifying it and weave those emotions into a poem.
Here’s my poem for today:
Poem: Your Presence Completes Me!
Some thoughts wander in the sanctuary of my mind
Emotions creating an upheaval in no time
Inept I feel at comprehending myself
But words come to my rescue, and verses I weave
Your presence I feel when you help me express
Mountains, valleys, depth of the ocean
Relationships, knowledge, service, and devotion
I followed every path as I searched for my purpose
But I was lost in this world as I set to find myself
Your presence I felt when you led me to myself
In the ocean of lies, I drowned every day
Truth, I perceived, was concealed in its depths
How could I ever find what I hid from myself?
Which face of the truth was truly my mirror?
Your presence I felt when I flowed like a river
The secrets of the Universe I found mystifying
The secrets of my heart I couldn’t rejoice
The pain in my heart broke me into fragments
Crumbled I lay, defying all proclamations
Your presence I felt when you recollected my bits
Incomplete I am, a wanderer in this Universe
Struggling to be seen, like moon on a grey dusk
Grateful I am Oh Lord, for your eternal benevolence
Your presence completes me, and my purpose on this Earth
In your loving grace, I found within myself, the entire Universe!
