ALS NaPoWriMo Day 4: Prompt:
We all have certain qualities, skills, talents, which we are proud of. And at the same time, we are also aware of where we need improvement, or which areas we need to work upon for our growth–personal, professional, emotional, spriritual.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, and express these qualities/ areas of improvements in our verses today.
Do take out time to read poems of fellow poets as well.
I sought inspiration from these words of Eckhart Tolle
“You are here to enable the divine purpose of the Universe to unfold, that is how important you are.”
Poem: Why Am I Here
“You are here to enable,
the divine purpose of the Universe to unfold,
that is how important you are,”
Believing this wisdom, I endeavoured to ascertain who truly I was.
—
Blessed I am with creative expression,
Through words, colours, and a heart replete with emotions,
Pain in another’s heart unnerves my soul,
In the stars and skies, I see the magic unfold.
—
In search of myself, I’ve been for years,
Inquisitive and committed to witness the world as a seer,
Mystified I feel at the mysteries unexplained,
I plunge to find answers in the stillness of my mind.
—
Rage, resentment, resistance and reaction,
I’m slowly progressing to tame these emotions,
The reality of existence, I’m beginning to comprehend
The test of relations, I ascertained, was just a bend.
—
Fear of others’ judgements, and validation of my deeds,
In a bid to please all whom I love, meet or greet,
I’m working on these traits that’ve been nibbling on my peace,
A work in progress I am, though the Universe is in me
—
The Universe that’s instilled divinity in me,
To feel its presence in every part of my being,
To enable its purpose of expansion through human existence,
That’s why I’m here–to expand through experience!
