It is the third day of NaPoWriMo and here is today’s prompt. The challenge today is to write a list poem in which all the items are made-up names. If band names don’t inspire, how about a list of titles for romantic novels? Or new television cop dramas? They can be as over-the-top as you like, because that’s (at least) half the fun.
Here’s my take at it 😉
So I surmised I’ll make a list
Of books that I want to read
Before angels come to take me home
And I wouldn’t have a chance to elope
The Way of the Bow
Like the Flowing River
Unlimited Power
Secrets of World Class
The Magic of Believing
Awaken the Giant Within
Warrior of the Light
Outliers
The Power of Positive Thinking
Get the Life You Want
The Supreme Gift
Forty Rules of Love
The sense of an ending
Rich Dad, Poor Dad
The Secret
Blink
The Gifts of Imperfection
Steve Jobs
The Five People you meet in Heaven
So you see
The list is quite a bit
And I’ve learned
It grows like my grit!
So someday
It’ll be compiled as a book
For I love and love
reading books
I admire these authors
I adore these titles
I enjoy these topics
I fall for recitals
And I wish
I had the time
To read poetry
Fiction and crime
Time to imbibe all the words and phrases
Time to imbibe all the quotes and pages
That these books of life imply
Then with the angel I would merrily fly!
