The challenge of NaPoWriMo today is to draft a prose poem in the form/style of a postcard.
I’ve written a post card poem in the form of a letter to my younger self. Something that has been on my mind for quite some time 🙂
Post card Poem: A Letter to my Younger self
Oh my dear younger self!
I have so much to share
I am not here to preach
But do give me an ear
Don’t try to fit in other’s expectations
Don’t you dare please everyone
Do not trample your dreams
It’s quite painful in the end
Oh! Please get over that treachery
Don’t cry over failure either
Listen more to your inner self
Ignite more of your imagination
I’ve learned it hard way my dear
It’s so much better to let it go
So don’t waste your precious youth
Gather grit to venture out of comfort zone

“Don’t try to fit in other’s expectations
Don’t you dare please everyone
Do not trample your dreams
It’s quite painful in the end” – if all of us learnt this in our youth.
I posted a poem yesterday “I do not dream any more” with a similar theme.
You are so right but unfortunately we do not heed to any advice on our youth 🙂 Thank you for your comment. I shall check yours too !
Unfortunately, as we all know, hindsight is 20/20.
Liked it…
Thank Sang! Congratulations for being featured 🙂
Thanks Vanadan…
