The prompt for Day 19 of NaPoWriMo is to write a poem that recounts a creation myth. It doesn’t have to be an existing creation myth, or even recount how all of creation came to be. It could be, for example, your own take on the creation of ball-point pens, or the discovery of knitting. Your myth can be as big or small as you would like, as serious or silly as you make it.
I have worked around a myth behind invention of Telephone. Hope Graham Bell wouldn’t be annoyed with me 😉
Her captivating voice had a magic spell
her charming words could cage Bell
her profound reflections
her sparkling laughter
he could die to relive
that musical jasper
so he wired his mind
telegraphed waves of sound
experimented with transmitters
worked on electro-magnetism
to create a bell
that could capture her spell
that’s how he invented the telephone
the great Alexander Graham Bell!
Ring…ring…ring…hello…its a nice discoem (discovery+poem)
Thanks. Looks like you are still in hangover of neologism 😉
Very well written. Was blank until I read yours. I still am but see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Great. I am glad I could show you some light 😉 Thanks
I really liked this! It’s a beautiful myth. ☺
Thanks. I am glad 🙂
