Poem: The Journey of Soul
The soul is an open book,
If you are willing to read.
It has no specific agenda, nor strategies,
It just wants to be–
Be itself.
On a journey ‘tis,
To grow through experiences,
Words– it doesn’t speak,
Peace– it seeks,
It is pure existence.
It has answers to all your questions,
A way out of all dilemmas,
A key to all mysteries,
A repertoire it is–
of what was, is and will be!
Caged– you may feel, eyes cannot see,
Trapped you are in the maze of mind,
But soul cannot be imprisoned or executed,
It is emancipated of all encumbrances,
It is a free bird in this vast Universe.
The voice of yesterday resounds in present,
Some memories intrude this moment,
Like wind that ruins a perfect ring of leaves,
Leaving the leaves (memories) scattered all over the field (mind),
But soul remains unperturbed, maintaining its perfect balance.
I feel it sometimes in the shadow of moon in the river,
Or in the candle that flickers in my heart,
Sometimes it wakes me up at dawn,
Reminding me of its pristine presence,
Amidst nature, I feel it all.
Am I the voice of my soul?
For I hear it oft in my being,
At times I find it too close to bear,
As if it were a part of me,
Until I realize, it actually is!
