The prompt given by Maureen for today is to write a poem about a very small thing.
Soul Craft gave a prompt to pick a word from a language other than English.
I’ve combined the two prompts to write about the tiniest thing- a moment. And using few words from other languages with meanings as below:
Carpe diem: A Latin word that means, “Seize the day”
Hygge: Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.
Mantra: A Sanskit word used to refer to a word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation.
Poem Title: Carpe Diem- My Mantra
The past is over; the memories remain,
Some feats, some failures,
Some anger, some pain,
In memories, we keep all emotions detained
–
Tomorrow– our hope to cure our sorrows,
A point in time when we would smile,
A possibility to celebrate and invigorate our life,
A reason to bring more hygge in life
–
Today– the only definite moment,
A moment that would be ‘past’ in few moments,
Our only chance to live, laugh and smile,
To indulge in our passion, for our dreams to realize
–
So seize the day, before it seizes you,
Let the trap of past and future, not engulf you,
Let Carpe diem be the mantra of your life,
Let today be the reason for all smiles!
