ALS NaPoWriMo Day 14 Prompt: I broke my mirror
My poem uses the following words of Rajneesh, “Mind is a broken mirror.”
Poem: Mind–A Mirror
Mind is a broken mirror,
It doesn’t show reality en bloc,
But as broken bits amassed from here and there,
Even camouflaging perception as real and fair
—
Clouded by the smog of emotions and opinions,
Fragmented by attachments and distorted portions,
It manipulates the reality of the world outside,
Blinding the consciousness to the verity within.
—
The truth that I wish to see with the eyes of my soul,
The experience that my being yearns to soak in,
Are concealed by the smoke of illusions and misbeliefs,
The smoke that has covered the mind’s mirror for ages.
—
The mirror that reflects my thoughts and emotions,
Within the boundaries and restrictions set by it,
It fails to display my true inner self–
The self which is unmoved by the mind’s broken bits.
—
I need to centre myself to feel my true being,
A balance that can only be attained within,
The broken bits of the mirror will then be conjoined,
Leading to clarity and wisdom within.
