ALS NaPoWriMo2024 Day 13 Prompt:
Poem: The Kurukshetra of Life
In the battlefield of the world, I fight a war each day,
My loved ones O! Krishna, I cannot hurt in any way.
My quest for life, to your divine words leads,
For prudent life lessons, to Arjuna you teach!
Detachment from results, with focus only on work,
Is the first lesson I need, to stay calm as I proceed.
No regrets about the past, or for anything you’ve lost,
No worries about the future, is what your verses preach.
I quiver my lord every day, as I see others in my way,
“Do not doubt your abilities,” is what Bhagavad Gita says,
“Your thoughts can make or break you,” you teach,
“What your mind can think, you surely can achieve!”
“Do not be afraid of death, O Parth,
For soul is immortal, this body it may leave.”
I accept the ephemeral nature of the world,
And truth seems clear with these words of yours.
“Alone and naked you came in this world,
Without a speck of dust, you’re bound to leave,
Possessions are merely controlling your life,”
Your sermons, O! Lord, strengthen my beliefs!
“Anger, lust and greed are the root of all evil,
The reason of this war, O! Arjuna, can’t you see?”
How rage and lust have manipulated my being,
With your guidance O! Krishna, my mind could perceive.
How life revolves around Karma,
A perspective to discern my dharma,
Grateful I am O! Lord, for light of love and kindness,
A truly blissful state, in your teachings I can feel.
A path to self-realization,
Discipline and rumination,
An armour to life’s ordeals with stability and inner peace,
Your text’s a guiding light O! Krishna, which shatters all misbeliefs.
