ALS NaPoWriMo Day 17:
Shakespeare said, “What’s in a name?” Do you agree? Some people attribute a great value to their name. What value do you attach to your name? Is there any name that you particularly like? What is the meaning of your name? Write a poem seeking inspiration from these thoughts.
Poem: Name- Divine or confine?
Know me by my deeds,
Hear my thoughts speak,
Remember me by my verses,
For they express how I truly feel
What do you like about me?
Would that change if I change my name?
Would you value me less, if ever,
I decide to be called by another name?
My name is not my identity,
It’s how you address my existence,
My name is simply few letters,
How can it insinuate who I am?
It surely connotes a meaning divine,
A prayer is what it signifies,
And prayer is truly the centrum of my life,
But my soul isn’t chained by the name assigned.
