Prompt:
Today, in honor of the potential luckiness of the number 13, I’d like to challenge you to write a poem that, like the example poem here, joyfully states that “Everything is Going to Be Amazing.” Sometimes, good fortune can seem impossibly distant, but even if you can’t drum up the enthusiasm to write yourself a riotous pep-talk, perhaps you can muse on the possibility of good things coming down the track. As they say, “the sun will come up tomorrow,” and if nothing else, this world offers us the persistent possibility of surprise.
Here’s something from me to keep you going!
Poem: You can do it!
The pain in your heart,
The dejection in your eyes,
The words that miss your lips,
The hope that dwindles away
–
The rays of the Sun that intensify your pain,
It’s all here, I know
But trust it’ll melt away,
Sunny it certainly is, but spring’s not far away!
–
You’ve been through it before,
You’ve witnessed all go away,
You were enveloped in fear,
When mist of doubts were cleared away
–
Hold onto that little bird,
The bird of hope, as they say,
Find the strength in your little wings,
Look up to the sky and fly away
–
The winds of ambiguity maybe mightier than your spirits,
The stream of transformation may be obstinate,
But you’ve done it before, you sailed it through
You can do it again, if you row away!

I loved this stanza. This is so well conceptualized Vandana.
