Yay! I did it again, fourth year in a row 🙂
Today is the last day of NaPoWriMo 2020 and I’m super excited that I completed it successfully, following all prompts to the ‘T’. It was quite challenging this time, with everyone at home due to lockdown but I’m glad that I got all the support from family and came through cheerfully. Thanks to all my readers and fellow bloggers for reading and commenting on my posts and keeping me motivated. Congratulations to everyone who completed a month of writing!
And last, but not least, our final (optional) prompt! The challenge today is to write a poem about something that returns.
I feel alive, everyday
Spring revisited us;
The blossoming flowers enchanted the butterflies,
Pearls of dew came back every day to wake up the florets-
To resuscitate their beauty,
Heedless that they will perish in the act, at the kiss of the Sun
Sun, that never failed to bless the Earth, every day,
Every day, since decades, since centuries
I’d slept with a heavy heart; again
Premonitions, encumbrances, reservations
Somehow found a way to eclipse my mind, every time
Restraining my rationality,
Captivating my verve
Fuelling my resentments, questioning my vehemence
Unsolicited, each time
But with the first rays of Sun that announce dawn
Hope always managed to sneak in
To reinstate my faith in Universe
To act as the wind beneath my wings
To rekindle the spark that night had doused
And I rise like a phoenix
To face new ordeals, to feel alive again; each time!
