ALS NaPoWriMo Day 27 Prompt: Your eyes speak to me
Have you ever felt magnetised to someone’s eyes? Some people say a lot just with their eye expression. It could be the eyes of an infant, your first child, your beloved, your mother, a friend or a deity. Let your pen ink some praise for a set of beautiful eyes.
Poem: The Divine Bond
“Ek Onkar ੴ (There is only one God)”
I have felt in your eyes since I was a child
My morning dawns with your blessings divine
As I open my eyes, and thank you for another day in my life
With folded hands when I look into your eyes,
“Bharosa Rakh (Trust me),” your eyes assure me with a smile
When conundrum of life I feel inept to resolve,
In my ears chimes, “So Satguru pyaara mere naal hai, Jithe kithe mainu lay chhadayi”
(That Beloved True Guru is always with me, wherever I may be, He will save me.)
I oft lose my way in this realm labyrinthine,
You silently guide me to your holy shrine
“Nanak chinta mat karo (Guru Nanak says, ‘Do not worry’)”
Echoes in my being, instilling faith in your might
My worries, resentments, apprehensions and fears,
Melt in the wisdom of your verses divine
An unwavering trust I discern in you, Waheguru,
I know you are always walking beside
You shape my dreams when I soar high,
You help me express when I sit to write
In your presence, I feel an eternal peace,
Your captivating eyes convince me of my feat
I’ve been searching forever for meaning of my life,
In your loving grace, I’m sure I shall find
Charan sharan gur ek painda jae chal
Satgur kot painda aage hoye let hai
(If you walk just one step towards the sanctuary of the Guru’s feet,
the Guru takes millions of steps to receive you.)
